This course explores chamber music from the late eighteenth through the mid-twentieth century with an emphasis on significant works that belong to the standard repertoire. It takes an historical approach and, questions traditional narratives associated with the history of chamber music, and explores voices often excluded from those narratives. Finally, it considers how emerging and estab-lished ensembles are keeping the tradition of chamber music alive today.
