CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated June 24, 1895, under the general laws of Wyoming through filing with the secretary of the State of Wyoming a certificate of incorporation dated June 14, 1895. The purpose of incorporation was to construct and operate a railroad from Aladdin, Wyo., in an easterly direction through the State of South Dakota to a point on the Missouri River in said State. The date of organization was June 26, 1895.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned and operated on date of valuation had been acquired by construction, which commenced in 1898 and terminated about July 1, 1899. The Black Hills Coal Company, an affiliated corporation, constructed a part of the roadbed, comprising the carrier's roadway, and sold it in its partially completed state to that company at the time of incorporation. Two of the incorporators, C. A. Spreckles and B. J. Hoffocker, completed the construction and equipped the road under contract with the carrier.
