CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated December 12, 1918, under general laws of Texas, to construct a line of railroad extending from May, in Brown County, to Newcastle, in Young County, a distance of about 96 miles, all in Texas. The date of its organization was December 12, 1918.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road, all owned, extending from Mangum to Ringling Junction, 26.590 miles, was acquired by construction, partly by contractors and partly by the company's own forces. The grading was done by Maney Brothers of Oklahoma City, Okla. The records do not indicate they were affiliated with the carrier. Construction work began in January 1919, and the road was completed in sections and opened for operation from April 1, 1920, to November 1920. Part of the rail and other track material in the tracks of the carrier is leased from the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Company of Texas.
