Greetings. I've reviewed the opinion piece you object to from USA Today. As far as I can see USA Today has not retracted it. If you can find sources per WP:RS that confirm your assertions of the article's falsehood, I suggest you put the link on the article Talk Page, where I have just opened a discussion regarding this, to explain why you believe the material should not be included.
