Orphaned non-free media (File:Fairbanks - Pickford - Chaplin - Griffith.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fairbanks - Pickford - Chaplin - Griffith.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistral[edit]

Il y a des suggestions pour améliorer l'article à [1]:

  • sourcer les paragraphes sans citation
  • relire le tout en traquant les déclarations excessives comme "operate autonomously for 10 days, up to 100 kilometres (62 mi) into hostile territory from coastline, anywhere in the world"

Bien cordialement

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Bonjour. Please help Judy Wilyman image[edit]

I need help with an image getting it up to a WP page that you previously opposed. I would like to load it to WP with your support as previously you have been following my contributions hoping to find fault and deleting my contributions. I would like to get an image of Judy Wilyman from her speaking at the 'Freedom of Choice event' published from the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srTsNXUjRFM (around 38:00) that is filmed and published by the author 'Freedom of Choice event' who has released its copyright. The author of the video has marked it 'License Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)' so I can't see a problem with it. Looking forward to your help in this matter. CatCafe (talk) 15:19, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ok @Patrick Rogel: pls explain why the image of Wilyman is to your distaste. You need to explain in detail please as your rationale is confusing. CatCafe (talk) 15:33, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ok I will start. The fair use copyright warning at the beginning of the video (that you got confused) does not relate to the filmed on stage presentation of Wilyman that the author filmed and released, you can understand that cant you? It relates to other parts the author has included, not the part the author filmed and released. Please discuss as no reply by you will be viewed as you being in error. Thank you. CatCafe (talk) 15:47, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Patrick Rogel:, can you please engage and discuss here on WP as this is now the relevant place to discuss (not WM). Are you still wrongly claiming the image screenshot of Wilyman is "fair use"? As it is/was not labelled that on any upload, rather it is noted that the author states: "License Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" on the sources page clearly linked. It would be wrong for you to claim the image screenshot of Wilyman on stage is "fair-use" as a pretext to have it deleted. If you had took the time to read details with the upload you would have noted that it was CC4.0 "License Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" which is what the author wrote on the video's page to assist with reuse. Thanks for your cooperation in advance. CatCafe (talk) 22:58, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:DRRC understanding[edit]

Hi, just a polite note to tell you of the 'Don't restore removed comments' WP:DRRC guidelines - that I think you may not have read previously (it is published on WP but equally applies to WP & WMC). Editors such as I are entitled to remove content on their own talk page without interference, and other editors are in breach of the rule if they restore. Please read WP:DRRC where it says: "If a user removes a comment from their own talk page it should not be restored. By removing the comment, the user has verified that they have read it. The comment is still in the page history, so it is not necessary to keep it visible just to show that the user received the message. It is also wrong to force them to keep it there as a sort of badge of shame". Thank you. CatCafe (talk) 04:21, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
