Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Charles Bukowski, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Hi. I've also changed it to say Charles Bukowski's father was an American serviceman, because, unless I've missed something, that's what the given sources say. I can't see any sources there that say he was German-American - even if he genuinely was German-American, we can't include it if we don't have a source for it. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:34, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 05:36, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

January 2011[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Charles Bukowski. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. This is the final warning that you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you vandalize a page, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Nakon 06:08, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I really don't know what I've done to upset you, but if you take a look at the history of Charles Bukowski, you'll see I have never mentioned the word "Polish" at all, and I agree "Polish" appears to be incorrect - personally, I don't care if his father was German, Polish, Venezuelan, Martian, or whatever, as long it is backed up by a reliable source. I *once* changed it from "German-American soldier" to "American serviceman", because that's what the sources I could check actually say, and all I asked for was a reliable source to be referenced if you want to change that. I see you've got yourself blocked now, but should you be unblocked and wish to contribute constructively, I suggest what you do is learn the way we go about things here at Wikipedia. If someone makes a change we don't agree with, or removes one of our changes, we don't start shouting and screaming about it and hurling accusations and abuse - we discuss it in a calm and friendly way on the article's Talk page. If you had done that in this case, we could have worked towards the best answer, and none of this unpleasantness would have happened. Best regards -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:46, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've commented in further detail at Talk:Charles Bukowski -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:22, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
