Admin needed only[edit]

Could someone unprotect my userpage? ForestH2 t/c 21:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted completely? Any reason? RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:36, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You've now changed it back to what was there before your request, so, just to confirm: you want it gone completely? RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:44, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:47, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore my userpage. ForestH2 t/c 21:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Argh! So you want User:ForestH2/Userpage deleted? May I hurt you now? ;) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:51, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's the right page, or, yes, I may hurt you now? ;) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done, and consider yourself slapped with a 3-day-old trout. ;) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:55, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back[edit]

Enjoy your sort-of-vacation? ;) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What was it that made you come back? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 22:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Carmelapple[edit]

Due to Carmelapple's recent actions, I'm not comfortable with him doing anything related to the Signpost. Ral315 (talk) 03:07, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He attempted to pass off a copy-and-paste from a news article as his own work, then left Wikipedia shortly after I called him out on it. Whether the two events are related, I don't know, but both are troubling by themselves. Ral315 (talk) 03:09, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Link me to it, or e-mail it to me, and I'll write it up. Ral315 (talk) 03:12, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Link's above, or send it to wiki DOT ral315 AT gmail DOT com. Ral315 (talk) 03:16, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The link? It's not bad, but the problem is it's not updated too often. Ral315 (talk) 03:38, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I understand. Re. the Signpost: Just write an article. It's not too formal. Ral315 (talk) 03:40, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That might be a good place to start. In the news has been written by CatherineMunro, but she's been doing other things the last month or so. You could take a crack at it. Ral315 (talk) 03:51, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Welcome to Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, ForestH2, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

RfA[edit]

Forest, I'm deeply honored that you'd like to nominate me for adminship right now, but at the moment I don't quite think I'm ready for it. Besides the fact that I'll be away for 10 days starting Wednesday, my life is rather busy and I don't think the mop's entirely right for me. Also, once I'm more active in RfA, AfD, and other project-related things, I might be more suited to the position. But my utmost thanks to you…

Also, I noticed above about Carmelapple. He assigned me to write the Simple English Interwiki Report, but he said he was going to give me the info and I would spruce it up and make it article-worthy. Please keep me posted on what I should be doing for that, keeping in mind I won't be back until the 27th. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:15, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's rather weird. Does Carmelapplelive near you, do you know? IP addresses are select to specific areas. Take a look at the IP's contribs. Yours and his are fairly steady up next to each other. That's extremely odd that you have the same IP. Anyway, thanks you, and I won't hesitate to ask! Plus, I await your details on the simple wiki. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:34, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. I just looked up the IP. I know that you live in Idaho, but the location of the IP address is in Virginia because that's where Road Runner is. So, the conclusion is that you both use RoadRunner? Is that right? --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 01:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Signpost[edit]

Hi,

I was the author of the Polish Interwiki Report in the Wikipedia Signpost and have been cooperating with Carmelapple in editorial and organizational work for this section of the Signpost.

Carmelapple is away and he seems to have a dispute with Ral315. Anyway I'd like to help with this section of the Signpost now and in future so please contact me if needed.

Treebark was another user involved in editorial work in this section but he's also not available at the moment.

Admin[edit]

Hi,

It might look odd that I am not an admin already but after my daily presence on the English Wikipedia in the early days I no longer had the time and got absorbed in mainly administrative work on the WP-PL. From that moment my contributions waned and were merely additions to interwiki links sections. Lately I have again been quite active with the Signpost and medicine articles, for example. From time to time I wish I had administative privileges when a vandal requires a block or I need to revert spam links. All in all, if you think that I qualify go ahead.

Hello Forest[edit]

Hello Forest, nice to see you're still editing wikipedia. It's been a while! Foxearth (logged out)

SpongeBob episodes...[edit]

"Krusty Towers" was not originally shown with "Mrs. Puff, You're Fired". If you remember correctly, "Krusty Towers" premiered right before the Kids Choice Awards (which were on April 1st) alone and without a companion episode. I don't remember when "MP,YF" premiered, but I'm 100% sure it didn't come out on the same day that "KT" came out. Sorry about all this... :-) Doodoobutter 13:12, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SpongeBob SquarePants template[edit]

Hi there - you recently accused me of vandalism to the SpongeBob SquarePants episode template - may I ask why? In my nine months at Wikipedia, I have not vandalised any article (and you can even check my list of contrbutions). The message you sent me was, I have to say, not all that formal, but seemed rather custom-made. Reply back when you can.

--LBM | TALK TO ME 16:30, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - no problem, I wouldn't count it as vandalism; I thought That's No Lady redirected to That's No Lady (SpongeBob SquarePants episode). Apparently not. It was my mistake. Thanks again! --LBM | TALK TO ME 23:56, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you insist. I don't really agree with you calling my edits "good-faith vandalism"; I see on your userpage that you hope to be an administrator soon - may I suggest that you use "friendly" language towards other members first? --LBM | TALK TO ME 01:05, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! --LBM | TALK TO ME 01:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The New Leaf[edit]

The episode has already aired! And in the disscusion page when you asked where do I live, look in my User page to look where I come from. And what made you come back from your "vaction?" Regards, Iswatch19 08:50, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bygones are bygones![edit]

Yes things did get a little bit hectic. We were both blocked after all! Not to worry it's all in the past now! See you around. Foxearth 09:05, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you[edit]

But I'm fairly certain that the Pirate Painting in SpongeBob is Patchy the Pirate not Painty. I saw your name affliated with the project page so I put this here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.128.196.116 (talkcontribs) 18:30, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

The Interwiki report[edit]

Hi,

I think the forthcoming report is the Swedish (Aug 21st) not Italian so we still have some time to catch up until Aug 28th Kpjas 22:18, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A solution to the problem with the Italian report might be to swap publication dates with the Spanish, perhaps and contact someone else to expand on it? What do you think? I personally don't think that the barebones version is ready for publication. Kpjas 05:54, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looking now. - RoyBoy 800 03:43, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
