Speedy deletion of Ariane de Bonvoisin[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ariane de Bonvoisin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Rob Banzai (talk) 18:27, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Marie brenner bio.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Marie brenner bio.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hope I'm doing this right...I've emailed the permission that I have to use this photo to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Thanks! Emayo314 (talk) 12:39, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Emayo314[reply]

Emailed permissions-en@wikimedia.org again with explicit permission from author that she not only owns the bio photo but releases it under the CC-BY-SA and all free license. The photo has been cleared. Thanks. Emayo314 (talk) 12:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Emayo314[reply]

File:Marie brenner bio.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Marie brenner bio.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 13:29, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged for deletion the image of Marie Brenner you uploaded because you placed a {{Non-free web screenshot}} copyright tag on it. The image must have a free license in order for Wikipedia to use it. Also, the photographer usually owns the copyright to an image not the subject unless there is a copyright release or it was a work for hire. -Regards Nv8200p talk 13:40, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have you submitted the permission to OTRS? Please see Wikipedia:Permission#When_permission_is_confirmed. If an OTRS ticket number is not supplied the image will be deleted again. -Thanks, Nv8200p talk 00:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you are not the copyright holder, you cannot use the "self" tag for CC and GFDL. I changed the tagging. -Nv8200p talk 00:13, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ariane de Bonvoisin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Notice

The article Ariane de Bonvoisin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article does not establish notability per WP:BASIC and is almost entirely sourced to WP:PRIMARY sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
