Images[edit]

Hi Burbank, thanks for uploading your recent images. You need to add source and copyright information to the image page or they will soon be deleted. The source information is wherever you got the image from. And the copyright information is identified with a tag, see [[Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags]. You need to determine what license the images fall under, and if it is a license that is compatible with wikipedia, add the appropriate tag.

You can see all the images you have uploaded by hitting the my contributions link and selecting images from the pulldown list. Thanks --Duk 14:43, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RB545[edit]

Hi Burbank.

I noticed you've edited the article, removing the mention that RB545 was a LACE or Liquid Air Cycle Engine-like engine.

It's not easy to get any info on this engine, AFAIK it's still covered by the official secrets act, but it doesn't appear to have been a turbojet, more like a ramjet with a precooler by the looks of it.

Also, I think it actually liquified the air; there's some vague references to it in the Skylon literature; something like 'Unlike earlier engines SABRE avoids liquifying the air'.WolfKeeper 19:03, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Fanchic.gif[edit]

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Fanchic.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. cohesiontalk 22:41, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:Bypassduct.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bypassduct.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image Tagging[edit]

Greetings. From the description and use of Image:TSdiagram.gif, it appears you intended this media to be freely available. I took the liberty of applying a {{GFDL-presumed}} tag. Could you confirm this at by replacing my edit with {{GFDL-self}}? Regards, Dethomas 02:16, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Primarynozzlechic.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Jet-engine related contributions[edit]

Your contributions in this area are much appreciated - thanks. Wizzy 12:23, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason you sent this article to AfD but didn't complete the process and add your "first deletion reason" explaining why you're nominating it? Akradecki 20:08, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Slamacceleration.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Slamacceleration.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jet engine performance[edit]

Hi! Am I correct in making the educated guess that you're a co-creator of jet engine performance? It's a tremendous article, both in size and regarding information quality, but it needs dire attention to be elevated in terms of Wikipedia standards. I was wondering if we could undertake the project of converting images to SVGs, creating sub-articles for elaboration (and with that shorten the article down) and supply the article with references. Your wealth of knowledge must stem from written works, so this shouldn't be impossible.

All in all, right now the article is more of a manufacturer's notebook than a Wikipedia article, and I see the potential in it to integrate (but not merge, oh no) with Jet Engine. That article also suffers from being too long, but is otherwise not comparable to J.E.P. Do you have thoughts on the matter? I'll be dropping this note on the talkpages of some other names I saw on that history-page for J.E.P., hopefully the engineers can collaborate and help produce a more wiki-like article. :)

I have nominated Severn Escarpment, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Severn Escarpment. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — Rod talk 13:10, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Burbank! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 872 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
