Here it is. --- Possible strengths: (just ideas, not a draft, statement, or answering of questions)

Experience in editing. Started editing soon after the Boeing 747 article was rejected for GA, brought it to FA. Cooperated with other editors, particularly Fnlayson to get FA.

Diplomatic. During 747 FA discussions, one editor was accused of bad faith by trying to defeat other article's FA and GA by raising objections which were not valid and trying to say that articles which followed WikiProject guidelines were not following MOS and could not become FA or GA. Rather than agree with the bad faith assessment, I worked with the editor to address as many complaints as possible and brought the WikiProject guidelines vs. MOS fight for community discussion and consensus. I thought this would help WP as a whole instead of battling each article and causing hard feelings and a possible edit war.

Also participated in helping a 3RR dispute calm down.

Familiarity with free and fair use, for example, by noting in my user page that the images are free use images, not fair use.

Familiarity with AFD. I've tried to point out possible ways for articles to avoid AFD when possible on the assumption that article improvement helps WP while chasing away editors helps nobody. When articles are lousy and non-notable, suggestions can still be offered. I have commented that articles should be deleted.

I've also had some of my edits quickly reverted so I know how that feels. None of these incidents ever resulted in an edit war.

Vandalism? I know where to find it. It's easy. Giving a level 3 warning seems hard for me because it threatens "you will be blocked". How can I say that without it being a potentially idle threat? A level 2.9 warning "steps will be taken to have you blocked" is more appropriate but doesn't exist yet.

Edit countitis? 1300 mainspace, 3100 total. Fair amount of talk page edits, fair amount of namespace edits, some AIV and AFD participation. Plenty of DYK participation. Plenty of article creation and error correction.

My chief goal is for DYK to be updated on time. It's often late. As a result, good hooks expire. Editors become disappointed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Archtransit (talkcontribs) 00:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
