The Battle of Krynki was a Ukrainian counter-offensive operation during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The fighting began on October 19, 2023 in the village of Krynki.

Background[edit]

On the first day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, February 24, 2022, the village of Krynky was occupied by Russian troops.

On June 6, 2023, as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam, the territory of the occupied village was very damaged and was temporarily flooded due to its proximity to the lower reaches of the Dnieper, during this period most of the local residents were able to leave, with the resumption of hostilities - there were no local residents left in the village at all.

On October 14, 2023, a Russian ammunition depot detonated near the village.

On October 20, the Armed Forces of Ukraine entrenched themselves in the village.

On October 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine expanded the bridgehead near the village and repelled attacks.

November[edit]

On November 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced into the village.

On November 17, the marines entrenched themselves in the area of the village.

December[edit]

On December 18, the SOF Russian TOS-1A, which attacked positions in the Krynk area, was destroyed. Russia's newest T-90 tank was also destroyed.

On December 24, the Russian military used prohibited chemical weapons near the village of Krynky.

2024[edit]

January[edit]

On January 9, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled another assault by the Russian military.

On January 10, the Russians attack the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the assault ends in failure.

On January 11, the German magazine Bild stated that the village is one of the biggest traps during the entire Russian-Ukrainian war.

On February 14, the Russians increased the number of assaults, but all attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from the Left Bank of the Kherson region were in vain. Russian troops lost 72 soldiers, an artillery system, 11 guns, 4 mortars, an electronic warfare complex and 5 vehicles.

On May 23, the village of Krynky became a subsidized region of no strategic importance.
