Hi, I'm Mary Going and I'm a PhD researcher at the University of Sheffield. My research explores the depiction of Jeiwsh myths and characters - from Shylock, to the Wandering Jew, and also Vampires - in late eighteenth and early Gothic fiction. I am co-organiser of Sheffield Gothic, and also co-lead organiser of the Remagining the Gothic Project and the Gothic Bible Project. I am also the current web officer for the International Gothic Association (IGA).

On Halloween in 2018, the Gothic Bible project launched a special call for papers for a 'Buffy and the Bible' conference, to be held at the University of Sheffield on 4-5 July. This is a particular interest of mine, combining my interest in the Gothic adn Horror, religion and Buffy. In 2017, to celebrate the 20 anniversary of Buffy the Vampire SlayerI wrote about the top ten Gothic episodes of the show, and in the summer I curated a Buffy blog series on the Sheffield Gothic blog (which you can see here).
