I analyze this situation as a threat towards AppleButtEr. RunOff has threatened the user by threatening to block AppleButtEr, which isn't right. I agree that the best idea would be to convert the numbers into percentages, as this would not not be against WP:OR as long as it is referenced. I don't think that this would violation of WP:SYNTH. RunOff appears to be abusing his power, to be blunt, to have the article read the "correct way", at leats in his eyes. Converting the numbers to percentages does not violate WP:OR, and with the proper references it can add to the article. Calculating a percentage is almost as far from original research as converting metric to imperial. If anything it is longstanding users who should pay more attention to policies such as civility, newbies can be forgiven and gently introduced to such policies. Admins have no such excuse. RunOff is out of line and should be RFC'ed. But I don't like the idea of simply averaging the four wildly different percentages; I think a better approach would be to say that various studies give percentages of black chihuahuas ranging from 36% to 65%.
