User:Filll/AGF Challenge 2:2.3 The word "shockingly" is not uncivil here

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  1. In this context i.e. multiple vandalisms by someone with strong POV then no I don't think ZZ should be censured. If shockingly is particularly uncivil in your dialect of English then a note to that affect on ZZ talk page might be more appropriate. e.g. Hi ZZ, I like the way you handled the sigh clone thing, but before you use that phrase again I thought you might want to know that in this part of the world shockingly is a euphemism for a police statement made under the influence of electricity. 2. If anything the term is accurate, it is rather shocking that it's possible that someone could be that convinced of something so very incorrect. In this case I think WP:AGF should be extended to ZZ, I would be shocked too to encounter this Felixmeister (talk) 05:20, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

  4. Shockingly is not uncivil IMO. Pie is good (Apple is the best) 00:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
  5. Really, I'm shockingly disappointed that a heated debate unfurls over shockingly. It really doesn't seem to be that uncivil. -- Banjeboi 10:39, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

  7. I simply do not see the problem. And as for the "sigh-clone" guy, his unending insistence on arguing this point is an abuse of talk pages. Richwales (talk · contribs) 02:54, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
  8. Wow, a "shockingly" large amount of time was wasted on this. With a thing like this, people are making borderline uncivil comments right and left. Why latch on to one? unless, of course, ZZ really is a jerk, always. Eman235/talk 05:06, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
