Answers to Module 7 Questions[edit]

Memorial Statue for Sir Peter Nicol Russell located adjacent to the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the PNR Building at the University of Sydney

I have uploaded an image of the memorial statue to Peter Nicol Russell onto Wikimedia Commons. It is a figure that was presented to the University of Sydney by Russell's wife, Dame Charlotte Russell, on 23 June 1909, roughly 4 years after Russell's death.

The image is my own work, although it is a photograph of another's work. Given that the statue was created in or before 1909, the work is no longer under copyright.

The file format is a photograph JPEG (.jpg file extension).

I have decided to upload the image with a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

I have added it to the following categories: Peter Nicol Russell, University of Sydney, and Memorial.

The file has been described as follows:

Practicing citations[edit]

The report provides a detailed archaeological account of the remnants of the PN Russell & Co Engineering Works’ site from 1859 to 1875.[1]

This article provides useful content to add to the proposed Early Life section of the Wikipedia article.[2]

This section will help expand the body of knowledge focusing on PN Russell & Co Engineering Works and may even lead to the creation of a sub-section on Labour Disputes.[3]

This published encyclopaedic-style entry discusses a large component of Russell’s early days, as well as the circumstances surrounding the foundation of his business.[4]

This article is published in the Official Journal of the Master Builders’ Federation of Australia and, whilst it is commemorative and eulogistic of Russell, given that it was published 2 years after his death, it is still a factual work of Russell’s life and achievements.[5]
