Redesign[edit]

I've been reworking this template so it ties closely with the core aspects of Chinese Buddhism, while still being compact enough to be useful and practical to add to pages. As it was previously, it was too long and cumbersome to use on many of the relevant pages. I've used a pic of the ancient stone buddha statues carved into the cliffs around Lingyin Temple. Collapsible[edit]

I'v echanged the sidebar to a collapsible version, because of the cumulation of sidebars on many Buddhist pages. Didn't get the coloured background & white letters fixed for the topic-lists, though. Sorry... Joshua Jonathan (talk) 12:55, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pinyin[edit]

Does it really make sense to have the pinyin on this template? The major Buddhist texts were written in Classical Chinese and including a transcription in modern Beijing dialect strikes me as ahistorical, unnecessary, and possibly misleading. —Wiki Wikardo 16:47, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
