Why is this used?[edit]

Untitled[edit]

Why is this used for videos on wikipedia? It seems obscure. Why not go with something most viewers are likely to have? I mean, I know you guys hate anything even related to Windows, or god forbid closed source... But maybe you should be realistic about your viewers. I'm not going to go download this crap, neither are most others, I wager.

I'm sure there's a better discussion place for this than this discussion page, but I'm not sure where.

No longer works with modern QT?[edit]

I'm currently organizing comprehensive testing of the media support in LibreOffice, and from what I can gather, the latest (2009) version from Xiph isn't going to work on modern builds of OS X (10.9+), especially with the migration to AVFoundation. I don't know if anyone is working on a replacement for the Xiph QT Components, but losing them is going to affect a large number of users of tools such as LibreOffice and content from organizations such as Wikimedia. If there is an alternative, it would be great to have an update to the article to help users find it! -- Womble (talk) 03:11, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
