The Guardian hands cut off

The artisans that worked on the Taj are reputed to have had their hands cut off after the building was completed to prevent them building a comparable building is sourced to the The Guardian which is clearly WP:RS as per this. This is a major controversy and needs to be covered. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 21:32, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

If it is a 'major controversy', you should be able to find better sources than a single Guardian 'net notes' piece. Preferably sources that explain what 'reputed to' actually means, since as a statement it amounts to next to nothing. AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:36, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
From The Hindu:
The records conclusively show that the rumours about the chopping of hands were just that: hearsay. [1] AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:47, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
Yes, this is a very common legend/meme about buildings erected by absolute rulers. Always false. This latest revival is clearly part of a Hindutva trouble-making political agenda. Johnbod (talk) 22:39, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
news media is not a reliable source. please use scholarly publications. Please read WP:RS again.
Aso this is a myth and has been addressed by the various sources in this article. SKAG123 (talk) 01:41, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Time to upgrade

I think it's high time to get back that GA back. I am thinking to run a copyedit and ref cleanup soon and upgrade the article back to is former glory. Yes, I've tried unsuccessfully for the gold star back then, but now would like to make it a GA at least. Interested editors and watchers, please feel free to pitch it. Thank you. Mistakes

It states in the first paragraph that the Taj Mahal was commissioned in 1632, then in the first paragraph of "Inspiration," it says it was 1631. Which is it? Also, there is an error in the last paragraph where it says, "These idea." One is singular, the other plural.
