Special Category for British Motorcycles[edit]

As part of the Motorcycling WikProject I am working though all the missing articles and stubs for British Bikes. To make things easier to sort out there is a special Category:British motorcycles Please add to any British motorcycle pages you find or create. It will also help to keep things organised if you use the Template:Infobox Motorcycle or add it where it is missing. I've linked the Category to the Commons Motorcycles of Britain so you could help with matching pics to articles or adding the missing images to the Commons. The people behind the bikes also bring it all to life - I've created the Category:British motorcycle pioneers so please have a look and see if you can add or expand any? Articles should be categorized as per Wikipedia:Categorization. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 21:03, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page move?[edit]

Is the name of the company "Singer Motorcycles." If it is, the article should be moved. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 01:30, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No - its just 'Singer' after the founder, so I followed trhe convention that seems to be prevalent on the disambiguation page Singer (disambiguation) by putting motorcycle in brackets. There doesen't seem to be a standard for this so open to suggestions, as there are a few motorcycle companies where this applies. Cheers Thruxton (talk) 09:00, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rootes era[edit]

There is a big jump from the early days of Singer cars to where Chrysler bought the Rootes group. There is no indication as when the Rootes group bought Singer.

Also, is it my imagination, or was Singer a car manufacturer much longer than it was a motorcycle manufacturer? Perhaps the car side is more notable and this should be Singer (automobile)?
