Portugal[edit]
In Portugal two people living together as a couple (regardless of sex) for more than 2 years are covered by the "União de Facto" Law... they don't have to state that they are together for the law to apply. Should this be called a "Civil Union"?
Marriage rights and duties like join estate, inheritance, critial hospital decisions, control of funeral decisions, and others are not covered by this law, and probably will never be, since it is by definition a law for unregistred couples.
Any comments on this are welcome...

Is this really a disambiguation page?[edit]
It does not seem to me that this article really is serving the purpose of disambiguation... according to Wikipedia:Disambiguation, disambiguation "is the process of resolving conflicts in article titles that occur when a single term can be associated with more than one topic, making that term likely to be the natural title for more than one article. In other words, disambiguations are paths leading to different articles which could, in principle, have the same title."
In other words, the various links aren't cases where their titles would get confused with the term "same-sex union" but rather they are different contexts where the concept of "same-sex union" requires elaboration.
This article rather seems to be a top-level discussion of how same-sex unions are implemented in various contexts. That seems like a very useful article to have, and perhaps it needs a bit of discussion to introduce or summarize the main ideas, and then link to various "main articles" in various countries, religions etc.
