This should be a redirect[edit]

@Shhhnotsoloud, in your edit summary reverting my edit, you said "Abbreviations rarely have a primary topic, especially if the abbreviation isn't actually mentioned in the article". I feel like this is one of those rare cases. A Google search for "NYY" turns up at least 10 pages of the New York Yankees and New York Yankees-related results. Also, the other two pages' pageviews are dwarfed by the Yankees, by a factor of at most 500:1. In fact, I think the other two articles mentioned are so obscure that a disambiguation page isn't necessary, and a hatnote would suffice. Taking a look at the WikiNav statistics, Every single viewer (unless i'm reading the charts wrong) is looking for the New York Yankees. As such, I think this page should redirect to the New York Yankees. mwwv converseedits 15:50, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @Mwwv: You should request a page move of NYY to NYY (disambiguation), with NYY then redirecting to New York Yankees (see WP:RM). In my opinion the case will not be strong if "NYY" isn't mentioned at New York Yankees but a requested move would ascertain consensus. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:28, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 3 July 2024[edit]

NYYNYY (disambiguation) – Per my thoughts that NYY should be a redirect above. mwwv converseedits 13:14, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, the other topics are not notable. In the other hand, the three letter code is widely used by the most valued and most recognized baseball team in the major leagues of the United States and Canada.
