Notability[edit]

The topic of Puempel's notability was brought up after a proposed deletion and the reason given was Failure to meet the criteria of NHOCKEY, no evidence he passes the GNG absent routine coverage.. From the article of routine coverage: "WP:Run-of-the-mill events — common, everyday, ordinary items that do not stand out — are probably not notable." The CHL Rookie of the Year award isn't really everyday in my opinion as its a prestigious yearly award. From WP:NHOCKEY: "4. Achieved preeminent honours (all-time top ten career scorer, won a major award given by the league, first team all-star, All-American) in a lower minor league such as the Central Hockey League or the United Hockey League, in a major junior league such as those of the Canadian Hockey League, or in a major collegiate hockey league" and I'd define the CHL Rookie of the Year award as a major award. • I wouldn't. The intent of the phrase when drafted was something comparable to "all-time top ten career scorer" or "first team all-star" - to wit, a league MVP, best defenseman or best goaltender, all of whom would reasonably be first team all-stars.  Ravenswing  09:38, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just a note. RGtraynor found this article because Jerry D'Amigo is under deletion review here and he qualifies under won NCAA rookie of the year much like Puempel. RGtrayor is the only one in the discussion to think that Rookie of the Year isn't notable and when I pointed out this article being notable he then PROD it when I told him it won't survive an afd (which it won't). You have nothing to worry about this article isn't going anywhere.--Everyone Dies In the End (talk) 12:01, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
