POV[edit]

There are POV statements in this article such as "superstitions such as the caste system". The caste system may be evil, but labelling it superstition is POV. The supportersof the caste system may not think like that. Parthi talk/contribs 23:47, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gautama Buddha

Lord Gautama Buddha is considered as an avatar of god Vishnu only among the Hindus. The Buddhists recognize him as a separate religious leader. Therefore it would not be correct to state as a matter of fact that Gautama Buddha is an avatar of Vishnu.

I've fixed the statements concerning Buddha and edited for more neutrality. Removing the NPOV dispute tag.--Snowgrouse 07:55, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shri Gautama Buddha is only considered by the Buddhists as a separate leader. However even Buddhists if they study the Buddha, they realize that He was only trying to encourage the truth interpretation of the Vedas and its Arya Dharam. Buddhist scholar Rahula Vipola wrote that the Buddha was trying to shed the true meaning of the Vedas. Buddha is said to be a knower of the Veda (vedajña) or of the Vedanta (vedântajña) (Sa.myutta, i. 168) and (Sutta Nipâta, 463). For all inquiries, please read this version of Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu

Encyclopedic?[edit]

Is this article encyclopedic? Looks like it belongs on some Hinduism site rather than on an encyclopedia. Madhava 1947 (talk) 14:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps this could be moved to a list of Hindu saints? Madhava 1947 (talk) 05:59, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

False cognate[edit]

"Sant" is a false cognate of "Saint", thus rendering this article to be a mistake. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 02:38, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
