The result of the move request was: MOVE. Gamowebbed (talk) 14:07, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Greta bus crashHunter Valley bus crash – 3/4 sources directly call it the Hunter Valley bus crash, it is clearly the more notable name Gamowebbed (talk) 14:44, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

The majority are supporting this move, with one opposing. Looks like the discussion can be formally closed and the page moved.. Gamowebbed (talk) 09:32, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Yes. The original notice said "The discussion may be closed 7 days after being opened." That's now. I'm not familiar with the mechanism for closing. Anyone? HiLo48 (talk) 03:33, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Since there is clear consensus i believe anyone is able to close and rename, according to Wikipedia:Closure requests. I would make a request but there seems to be a backlog Gamowebbed (talk) 14:03, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Agree, and also add 2023 at the start so the article is named "2023 Hunter Valley Bus Crash" AlienChex (talk) 23:45, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

get rid of the 2023 part Pyraminxsolver (talk) 05:28, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Agree. The wedding and the crash involved a lot of Victorian people. There is a small but well known locality in Victoria called Greta. (It was the home of Ned Kelly.) The current name of this article will inevitably cause confusion. My own search for the article involved using the term "Hunter Valley", not Greta. HiLo48 (talk) 01:19, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Oppose for the following reasons:

(1) The crash occurred only 36 hours ago. It is too early for a WP:COMMONNAME to emerge.
(2) The Hunter Valley is an area of about 29,000 sq km, which lacks accuracy to locate the site of the crash.
(3) Similar bus crash articles use the name of the closest town: Grafton bus crash, Kempsey bus crash. WWGB (talk) 01:35, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Grafton and Kempsey are well known towns. Greta not so much. I'd never heard of it until this incident. Maybe suggest a bigger, better known town to connect it with. HiLo48 (talk) 02:23, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Further to that, ABC News currently has two articles, both referring to the "Hunter Valley Wedding Bus Crash in their headlines. Here. And here. HiLo48 (talk) 06:23, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Here is another article referring the Hunter Valley bus crash, not Greta. HiLo48 (talk) 23:51, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Support per above & other articles in the past that named using cities or regions that are in some cases even larger than Hunter Valley (to counter WWGB’s argument). See 2003 East Java bus crash & 2018 Hong Kong bus accident. Also support listing the year based on articles mentioned above.SBS6577P (talk) 08:31, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
