If we're not sure there is going to be a second season, should we move this article to Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.)? ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:00, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

I'd say no because in the case that enough seasons air we may create a page specifically about the U.S. adaption similar to Big Brother (U.S.) in which case we'd just have to move it back.TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:03, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Sure, but moving pages is easy. And unless sourcing suggests "Celebrity Big Brother 1" is the name of the series, we should probably move the page, especially if this may be a one-time thing. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:06, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Julie Chen stated in The Hollywood Reporter (reference number 6) "that if it has a big following and makes enough money that we're no fools" meaning that it's possible it may not be a one time thing.TheDoctorWho (talk) 14:26, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Right if the show hits the ratings target and makes the money CBS wants it will most likely be back. However as far as Wikipedia goes we shouldn't title this as Celebrity Big Brother 1 (U.S.) at this stage until CBS announces it themselves it is coming back for a second season which at the earliest will happen during the show's run on air. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 18:20, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
I say yes because we don't know if there will be a second season of Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.). Leaving the article title as it is would be a case of WP:CRYSTALBALL.--OfficerAPC (talk) 18:20, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

I personally don't have any problem with the article being titled Celebrity Big Brother 1 (U.S.) but the naming needs to follow Wikipedia guidelines which is why I recommend it being moved to Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.). Having it titled Celebrity Big Brother 1 (U.S.) falls into WP:CRYSTAL and implies that a second season will happen. Because this season will be occurring during the 2017–18 ratings season (typically September - May) the fate of the show most likely will be included in CBS' upfront presentations for the 2018–19 network season which will happen in May 2018. At this stage the Celebrity variant of the show wouldn't warrant enough information for its own article and the article for the British adaptation wasn't created until 2006 and at that point it had 4 seasons under its belt and there were enough differences between the celebrity version and the civilian version to warrant a separate article. So my recommendation is to move it to Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.) until CBS announces a second season. Then once there is a second season this article can move back to Celebrity Big Brother 1 (U.S.). That way if the need ever arises to split the celebrity information from the main article it can be done at that time. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 18:14, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

I'm about to make a move request on the UK one. But I think this one is okay per Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother TheDoctorWho (talk) 12:38, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

Now that CBS has officially confirmed a second season of Celebrity Big Brother, we can put the 1 back in the title for this article. OfficerAPC (talk) 03:20, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Because it has been OFFICIALLY renewed this is now OFFICIALLY the first season and I believe it should be moved because it primarily is about the [now known] first season. Once enough information is created then a second season article and/or an article specifically about the series. If moved an article could probably be created now specifically be created about the series however I believe it would a stub. TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:35, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
A split could also be considered splitting out any information having to do with only the first season. Also a decision to move would require that List of Celebrity Big Brother houseguests (U.S.) also be moved. TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:55, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Once the article for Celebrity Big Brother 2 (U.S.) can be created closer to when the season starts then this one can be moved to Celebrity Big Brother 1 (U.S.) and this title Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. TV series) can be redirected to the main Big Brother (U.S. TV series) article until it can be expanded to a standalone article like Celebrity Big Brother (UK TV series) has. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 07:27, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

At the moment Celebrity Big Brother 2 (U.S.) is redirected to this article, which should be renamed according to WP:NCTV standards, which would be Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. season 1) and the upcoming article for next year would be named Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. season 2). HouseGuests section

Why is there a start of an edit war forming with the HouseGuests section where it keeps getting switched from a table [2] to breaking the HouseGuests out with individual headers [3]? There is no real reason to have the HouseGuests broken out of the table as it makes the article bigger than it needs to be and if anyone wants to know any specifics about a celebrity's career they can click on their name. This is something I've been meaning to bring up about all the Celebrity Big Brother (UK TV series) articles for a while but kept forgetting to but there is no reason for these sections. No other "celebrity" based reality show does this and the Celebrity Big Brother articles should follow the wider precedent used. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 03:11, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Big Brother: After Dark

Big Brother: After Dark as been confirmed to return under the title Celebrity Big Brother: After Dark. The celebrity version has received it's own logo and its own promo video so the question is are they one show or is Celebrity Big Brother: After Dark a spin-off of Celebrity Big Brother following the format of Big Brother: After Dark or are they the same show??? There really isn't a need for a completely separate article for Celebrity Big Brother After Dark. Having a section on the Big Brother: After Dark noting that during a "Celebrity" season the show is retaliated "Celebrity Big Brother After Dark" would be sufficient since both shows are the same just the title is adjusted to match its parent season. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 05:37, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Summary section

Hi everyone! I was looking at the past seasons of Big Brother and noticed the American seasons use a variety of formats for the Summary (or Episodes) section. I was thinking we might be able to combine the formats into one universal format for the American and Canadian versions since they air the least amount of episodes per week.

I looked at a variety of other reality show articles and found that Survivor: Borneo is currently a Good Article and so I thought we could use the format for Survivor articles but with a few tweaks. I know this was once proposed back in Big Brother 16 (U.S.) but I think this could work. I made an example at my sandbox to take a look.

The key is to summarize an episode with just the important details (entries/re-entries, who's nominated, who wins a competition, punishments, evictions) and leave out what could be considered "fluff" or excessive details (alliances, fights that don't result in Big Brother/production interference, etc.) to make the section easy to read and align it more with WP:TVE and WP:TV. I tried to add a description at the top for the "Timeline" column so readers unfamiliar with Big Brother would know what the column was for and what terms like "Day 1" meant. If anyone has any suggestions on this idea to make it better please let me know. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 04:46, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Consensus ruled an official order exists (namely, Juror Numbers), so it's best to follow that, listing Mark and Ariadna as 3rd and 4th, respectively. OfficerAPC (talk) 19:50, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

Per the template documentation located at Template:Big Brother endgame the housemate part reads:

  • hmxx: This is where a housemate's name should be written. Names are not automatically linked to anything, so these need to be created manually.

and I realized that going all the way back to BB1 that none of the templates have been linked. Is this something we should do? I'm willing to go back and link them all but I figure it's better to discuss first. TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:39, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

Another thing to discuss is adding TV series to the individual Big Brother # (U.S.) articles, citing WP:NCTV. OfficerAPC (talk) 15:47, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
To answer your questions:
Current title Title following WP:TVSEASON
Big Brother 19 (U.S.) Big Brother (U.S. season 19)
Celebrity Big Brother 20 (UK) Celebrity Big Brother (UK series 20)
Big Brother Africa 5 Big Brother Africa (season 5)
Big Brother Brasil 9 Big Brother Brasil (season 9)
Big Brother Canada (season 5) No change
Big Brother 2012 (Finland) Big Brother (Finland season 8)
Big Brother México 2015 (Season 4) Big Brother México (season 5)
Bigg Boss 10 Bigg Boss (India season 10)
HaAh HaGadol 5 HaAh HaGadol (season 5)
Veliki brat 2009 Veliki brat (season 3)
So for changing the names this actually would be a discussion that would need to occur on the talk page of either WP:BIGBRO or Big Brother (franchise) then a notice on articles like Big Brother (U.S. TV series) pointing to the discussion. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 18:16, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Naming of various Big Brother articles

Hi! I started a discussion over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Big Brother about aligning all the various versions and seasons of Big Brother (franchise) with the guidelines of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television). I created a table showing all the different various naming conventions currently in use and recommended article names based on my understanding of WP:NCTV. I'm posting this notice to all applicable areas for a broad discussion. Thank You! ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 20:24, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
