--Florentino floro (talk) 08:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC) I took pains in researching all about Philippine whale sharks called Butanding in Filipino Dialect and 'tiki-tiki' also. Our countries' Donsol is the only place in the world, were these rare specie are most abundant.[reply]

There is already an entry about whale sharks. Should this page be merged with that page? pointless 16:48, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Objection to the merger. This article is separate and distinct and NEVER never never a duplicate of or redundant to the Whale shark. Butanding is truly Filipino, and one of the best in the world. If this is merged with Whale shark, it looses its global importance. There are lots of such sharks but Butanding is unique in Sorsogon. Also, the one who suggested the merger is User:129.98.215.237, and such user has not identified him her or itself, if ever. Further, this article is has lots of links, references and so specific but global, and must not just be thrown there in the generic. Its a pity to merge it. --Florentino floro (talk) 09:01, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 Done

I did a merge and redirect, I can not really find anything to merge though, all the important info is already in the whale shark page, only very specific Philipine info was in the Butanding page. For anyone that wants to save anything, all info is still left in the history, see [1], there where lots of reference, I did NOT check them, they might be good to keep? I redirected Butanding to whale shark. If anyone wants to delete Butanding, do so at WP:AfD I do not think it is nessesary so I will just redirect. --Stefan talk 14:13, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
