Yeah I want to know what Blaze looks like. Does anyone know where I cam see what blaze looks like?

characters= Yeah someone tell me where I can find out what blaze looks like?

I think i know what he looks like. When Bartlett is talking to his remaining pilots at the begining of the game, you will see a man in the background with sunglasses on that's Blaze. After the mission where you have to resucue the Presidant, you see him again when your squadran runs up the the birdge and sees the Presidant and Captian Anderson are talking. Only the wardog pilots are suppost to be on the carriar, yet that man is there aswell. That what I think Blaze looks like. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.189.72.254 (talk) 19:05, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello to all, just popped in to do some updates to add some links, though I've come to some problems: HH-60H Rescue Hawk I couldn't find a aircraft with the exact Designation, but there is one thats close, the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk, I wasn't going to add it till someone says its ok.

thats about it, did update the E-767 AWACS bit because the AWACS isn't from a 767 body, its a 707 and is designated E-3 Sentry, so I just did that up, was going to do the UAVs, but I'll leave them for now.

Since it is mentioned that the mother in the ending scene is Nagase, and the child is her daughter, which is mostly speculation, I feel it also worthy of mentioning (at least here, I can't say if it fits in the article itself) that many people speculate that Blaze is the father.

For: 1. Nagase is almost definitely the mother, since the hair style is quite similar. 2. Blaze is likely the father, as the game often alludes to a deeper relationship between Edge and Blaze. 3. Attractive females are rarely added to games for the sake of having attractive women, especially when the main character is male. There's usually a romance intended. 4. Since the Razgriz squadron disbanded, the military would have no rights to keeping the two from having a relationship.

Against: 1. The child is blonde, unless the sunlight is hitting her hair the right way. Both Nagase and Blaze have dark hair (the picture early in the game shows Chopper's arm covering Blaze's face, but you can see short, dark hair).

Blondness is a recessive gene. If Blaze and Edge both carry the recessive gene, there is a 1/4 chance their child could be blond. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 16:47, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Some children (my father and brothers for example) are blonde at an early age, but their hair darkens at puberty (my brothers' hair is starting turn brown, and my father's is jet black.

2. Again, it is speculation. Nothing in the game indicates that Blaze and Nagase ever became anything more than what is blatantly stated. It is left to the player's interpretation.

Take this as you will, but I can only support it with opinions. Still, if the child can be called Nagase's, then perhaps it would be wise to include this bit of speculation as well.

Sure, if it's listed as speculation. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 16:47, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Referrences to previous Ace Combat titles

I would like to note that the Kei Nagase of AC5 could be a reference to AC4's First Lieutenant Nagase of the civilian jet liner from the mission having the player escort the two civilian jet liners traveling at different altitudes, whose passengers were the scientists involved in creating Megalith, to friendly airspace. I suggest this might mean that the Euresia of AC4 and the world of AC5 might well be the same.LoneKnight 08:17, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Might be choppers kid... you never know ... or swordsmans lol . SniperSarge 02:45, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

it couldnt be choppers kid. he died. DUH! Maybe the kid is Captain Bartlett's. Think about it,

Nagase is always talking about him, and so worried about him. Also, she feels it's her fault for

him being shot down. She just has feelings for him.

WELL, maybe it happened before he died... like the morning of.. i dunno... 9months is long time afterwards..

Actually, he's got a point. But isn't Chopper's hair dark as well? But he does seem as if he gave it a go...Conor quinn 22:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

You all want to know what Blaze looks like? In the opening scene with Nagase, Bartlett and Chopper in the ready room, Blaze is the man with brown hair that chats a little bit with Chopper before Bartlett speaks. We see him again at Heierlark, standing next to Grimm and looking at Chopper.I am "Shot By the Light!" 15:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xxmyheartcrushedxx (talkcontribs)

Oh yeah, I was wondering, do these coordinates have something to do with the Sand Island Air Base? 28.2,-177.35 I was looking around Hawaii because I heard there was an island called "Sand Island" I misclicked and I got to an area called the "Midway Atoll". It strangely looked a lot like Sand Island Air Base in AC5... Anybody have any comments? I am "Shot By the Light!"

Falken part change

I changed the Falken part a bit coz the AC5 description of the craft says that it incorporates the latest technologies by Grunder Industries, not that Grunder made the plane. YF-23 23:38, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Engagement Zone Size

Does anyone know the geographic size of the engagement zone? It's probably a good thing to add.

Sand island... Real counterpart?

Hey, do a google search for "Sand Island." It's a Tiny islandin the Pacific Ocean, Off the string of islands making up hawaii. It's U.S. Territory. It is home to one Airbase, almost Replicating sand island from the game! There was even a Battle over it, similar to the "first flight" mission in AC5. check it out! Im suprissed no one has mentioned it before. Please email me at dhpc_raptor@yahoo.com if you know anything about it.

Midway is also called "Sand Island".Sam ov the blue sand 22:35, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
No, the Midway atoll has a number of islands, Sand Island is the largest. ZakuTalk 22:38, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

EB special - anyone remember it?

where you got flight patches? I just found mine in my apartment. Wondering if anyone out there has them?

It wasn't just EB; any preordered copy came with the tin and patches. I have mine on my coat. OOZ662 18:43, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

sewn mine onto my "pride" jacket w/ millitary emblems all over it... bring it out remembrence / memorial day

Speculation

This article needs some adressing. I'm going to remove some speculation as per Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Just the facts, folks. Onikage725

Suggested Merge of Dragonet 1 & 2 into this article

- Disagree. If anything, it should be merged with Ace Combat 2. Onikage725

- Disagree. The Scinfaxi article is equally short, maybe with a screen shot and a little more info we could improve the article, although I don't have a problem with us merging it if we can include info about other superweapons in the AC2 page. Zaku Two 22:40, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- Disagree. Dragonet 1 & 2 aren't even in AC5. A merge would be completely out of place. Cbale2000 15:43, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Crop circle

Can anyone vouch for the crop circles in mission 1? i havent been able to find them

They're around the center of the map.

Additional Trivia

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe the Osean reinforcements that arrive on the Mission "Journey Home" fly in a Missing Man Formation in the salute to Chopper. Though rather than sharply pulling up, one of the planes makes a hard turn. Maybe its one of the variations on it, since the Wikipedia page on the Missing Man Formation only describes the most commonly seen one. —The preceding 68.48.158.215 08:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

The one that splits off would be in Chopper's position in the formation, I think.Conor quinn 22:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Not to break the discussion here, but I was hoping someone could jog my memory as I've been unable to find my copy of Ace Combat 5 anywhere. There was an Air Ixiom flight at the civilian airport in mission 11a, "Chain Reaction," wasn't there? Trisar 00:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah; the other airline was Air West Osea, and several 747s on the tarmac have Erusean decagons on their tails. ZakuTalk 00:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

The Polar bears have been FOUND!!! They're in Mission 13: Demons of Razgriz.

Did anyone else know that "Razgriz" is the name of Russian Mythology's embodiment of death? However, the link sends you to the AC5 article. Also, someone mentioned on the Razgriz page that "Razgriz" is actually the Russian word for death. Special Penguin (Talk) 22:14, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Ace Mode

A single missile taking you down is not true. In most planes, a single missile will annihilate you, but not in the SU-37. After taking one hit in the SU-37, my damage meter read 92%. It may have been from where I was hit, although has not happened to me in every other plane. Thought I'd bring this up, since the article states that you can only take one hit by a missile in Ace mode before dying. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.153.124.246 (talk) 16:50, 9 March 2007 (UTC).

Also, the S-32 is not an SU-47 Berkut, but an S-37 Berkut http://aeroweb.lucia.it/rap/RAFAQ/six5th_5.html 24.153.124.246 16:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Wrong. S- is the prefix used for all Sukhoi forward-swept wing aircraft while experimental, while T- is used for normal swept wings. The S-37 was just a name for the Su-47, they're the exact same aircraft. The S-32 was a much earlier prototype related to the S-37/Su-47 that Wikipedia doesn't have an individual article for. ZakuTalk 18:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

It dosen't matter. In real life it only takes one missile to rip apart any plane. Villakid

Sand Island redirection?

Can anyone explain/fix why searching for sand island redirects me to this page? It's really rather annoying, and probably needs to be fixed. -71.104.92.157 02:15, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Plot

The plot needs some SERIOUS cutting down to be within wiki's standards. I haven't played the game yet, so I can't do to much, but I assume the other editors here have. so if you could start on that, it'd be fantastic. DurinsBane87 17:34, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

It does, the fat needs to be shaved down, so to speak. I think it gave away a big deal of the story. I can't even think of where to begin. There was a shorter, more concise plot line posted well before ALL OF THAT was added. Eaglestorm 02:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
If that's the case, it would make our job alot easier, as we could just search the history and Copy/paste the plot section. DurinsBane87 02:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
It's done, I backtracked to an edit dated sometime in late June, but removed the aircraft list and the differences between AC 4 and 5. I also restored the game premise. Hopefully, no one convolutes the article with a mile-long storyline.Eaglestorm 13:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
It's a bit lacking at the moment and could be expanded and rewritten in a more formal, direct tone. It's definitely easier on the eyes than the novel it replaced. --Scottie_theNerd 13:54, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for noticing. I got burned over it, because I didn't put what I said here in the edit summary and for being accused of delving into edit wars 'on purpose.' As for the story passages, it was too blocky.Eaglestorm 14:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Background

What does Mobius 1 have to do with any of this? They Don't metion him once and he isn't Blaze because Blaze is a trainee. King Toast 7:45, December 5 2007 (UTC)

Link Debate

This is directed at Oni Ookami Alfador and anyone else who keeps deleting the external links.

Wikipedia:External links specifically says:

What should be linked

  1. Articles about any organization, person, web site, or other entity should link to the official site if any.
  2. An article about a book, a musical score, or some other media should link to a site hosting a copy of the work if none of the "Links normally to be avoided" criteria apply.
  3. Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks) or other reasons.
  4. Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews.

The "www.electrosphere.info" link clearly fits under the highlighted reasons above as it is not a fansite but is primary function is as a resource.

The AceCombatSkies.com and AceCombat.net are geared more as fansites, yes, however a great deal of information regarding the games are available, and they are integral parts of the Ace Combat gammer Community.

I beleive that at the very least the electrosphere.info should remain, the other two I would not object to heavily to, but I still believe thier inclusion should be considered.Cbale2000 (talk) 19:48, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

you didn't even look at Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided did you? If I recall community sites are a glaring point on that list for a multitude of reasons, and this has been discussed ad nauseum with regard to other pages with similar links.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 20:20, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

ES has its share of speculatory content thanks to it being a forum anyway. All that it's good for is finding translations of Japanese-only content. I'd keep it out. Also, uh... AC.net doesn't even exist. ZakuTalk 23:10, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

How about the AceWiki then? It's a wiki completely dedicated to Ace Combat, powered by Electrosphere and without all of the fansite type content. Wouldn't this be an acceptable link? Cbale2000 (talk) 16:52, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

If it is shown to be a stable and reliable wiki than it may be acceptable. Generally being part of Wikia is a big help in that respect.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 19:32, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
If it can be done, all good. But mind you, there's another AC Wiki up and somebody's been inviting me there. Eaglestorm (talk) 03:11, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Nomination for Featured Article

I'm going to get to the point here; should this article be nominated for "Featured Article" status? RaptorR3d (talk) 00:44, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
