W. M. Artrell (1836 - ?) was an educator and school administrator in Florida. He was born in the Bahamas. He was of mixed heritage. In 1870 he emigrated to Key West and was appointed principal at the Frederick Douglass School there. He also served as an alderman and in the customs house.He moved to Jacksonville where he ran a school and worked as a tailor. He was a Templar.[1] He headed the Stanton School in Jacksonville. The Florida Archives have an engraving of him.[2]
