The Treaty of Sceaux was an alliance treaty signed between France and Sweden signed on July 11.
Stipulations[edit]
- An alliance is signed between France and Sweden directed against the Holy Roman Emperor.[1]
- Both France and Sweden pledge to support eachother in the event of war with 25,000 men and 50 warships.[2]
- Sweden is allowed to purchase French salt without paying export duties[3]

Gustaf's skilful but deeply unpopular German administrator, Pyhy, could now be dispensed with, in turn. Despite having helped successfully to negotiate an alliance between Sweden and France, in opposition to the Holy Roman Emperor, in 1543, he was suddenly arrested for administrative and economic misdeeds.
