Baseball scout Tom Myers.

Thomas G. Myers is an American former minor league baseball player, college coach, and current area baseball scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.[1]He is also the founder of the Golden Coast Collegiate League and owner of the Santa Barbara Grizzlies Baseball Development Group located on the Central Coast.[2][3]Myers has been a Nike Camp Director for 14 years![4]

Early Career[edit]

Myers graduated from UCSB with a degree in History and received his Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University.[5] Myers was drafted in 1991 by the Oakland Athletics and played 5 seasons with the Athletics, Orioles, and Cardinals.[6]In 1997 Myers served as player-coach for the Dutch Professional League in Haarlem, Holland.[7]

Coaching Career[edit]

From 1998-2001, Myers served as the lead assistant for UCSB of the Big West Conference. [8]From 2002-2004, he served in the same capacity at Santa Clara University. [9]He later returned to UCSB from 2005-2011 as associate head coach for the Gauchos.[10]

Scouting Career[edit]

Myers is currently in his 13th year as an area scout and is now in his third as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers Scouting Department. Myers previously scouted 10 years for the Chicago Cubs from 2011-2021.[11]His territory covers Central Southern California and Las Vegas. [12]

Myers has coached several Major League Players, including,Gabe Speirer, Kevin Gowdy, Ian Churchill, and Cole Schoenwetter.[13]
