Shanaya Kapoor (born on 03 November 1999) is an Indian actress and model. Daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Maheep Kapoor. She made her mark behind the scenes as an assistant director in the movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020).[1]

Early Life and Background[edit]

Kapoor is from a family deeply rooted in the Indian film industry, with her father, Sanjay Kapoor, being an actor as well as her uncles, Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor. Shanaya's cousins include actors Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor.

Shanaya completed her schooling at Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai.[2]

Career[edit]

Shanaya Kapoor began her career as an assistant director on the 2020 film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, which starred her cousin Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.[1]

In March 2021, Shanaya was officially introduced as a new talent by Karan Johar Dharma Productions. She signed a deal with the company. Her debut film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan.[3]

Modelling

Before stepping into acting, Shanaya made a name for herself in the fashion world. She has walked the ramp for several designers such as Manish Malhotra,[4] Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla also has been featured in various fashion magazines.[5] She has also partnered with Vogue India.[6]
