Lucia Pietroiusti (b. Rome, 1985) is an Italian writer and curator who works with art, ecology, and systems. She is the founder and head of General Ecology at the Serpentine Galleries in London.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Curatorial Projects[edit]

Pietroiusti curated the "Sun & Sea (Marina)," the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, which received the Golden Lion for best national pavilion and toured internationally.[1][4][6][8] In 2021, Pietroiusti curated “Power Night” at E-Werk Luckenwalde.[4][9][10] In the 2020 and 2021, She participated as a curator in the 13th Shanghai Biennale, under the theme "Bodies of Water."[1][11] At the Serpentine Galleries, Pietroiusti has led the General Ecology project.[6] This General Ecology project is a strategic, cross-organizational initiative to introduce ecological principles into the Galleries' public programs, infrastructure, and networks.[1][12] General Ecology includes live events, radio programs, publications, and research projects.[12][1] She co-curated "Back to Earth," a long-term program organized for the Serpentine's 50th anniversary with a focus on environmental issues that has involved more than sixty-five artists.[13] Pietroiusti co-founded and has co-curated the Serpentine Podcasts since 2015.[1][2][5]
