Fassen-Ball is a team sport created in 2018 by Farid Belgaid, a physical education teacher in Quebec. It is the newest sport promoted by Omnikin, a sports manufactuer originating from the french speaking province. The main objective is to score a goal past the goalkeeper with the ball whilst rolling it on the ground using one or two hands. The game has gained some popularity being presented to kids in South Korea and shown to the Physical and Health Education Canada congress in 2019. Similarly to Kin-Ball, the word "Fassen-Ball" is a registered trademark of Omnikin.

Game[edit]

Fassen-Ball is played in two teams of five players. It may be played in a gymnasium, outside, on a grassy field, and numerous other places. Every game may take 10 minutes or more. When the game begins, one team has possession of the ball. The ball must be played on the ground with one or two hands rolling it. It is forbidden to lift the ball with two hands and to then pass it or shoot it into the goal. [1] Although, passes with one hand in the air are allowed. If the ball is in the air, it may be put on the ground aftewards, shot, dribbled or passed using one hand by rolling it on the floor. The ball can be taken away from a player only during 1 on 1s (duels). It is forbidden to touch intentionally the ball with the feet except for the goalkeeper in the penalty area to intercept shots. The goalkeeper cannot however, take with his feet the ball from an attacker. Nonetheless, all restarts such as touches, goal kicks, corners or free kicks must be made with the feet. Penalty kicks however, are taken with the hands whilst avancing towards the goal by rolling the ball with one or two hands in a duel against the goalkeeper. The team having scored the most goals in the 10 minutes or more of the duration of the game wins.

Fouls[edit]

If any physical contact like pushing, holding, unbalancing or other numerous acts as such are committed, this will result in an inderect free kick or penalty if the foul took place in the penalty area. The player can also receive a withdrawal of a couple of minutes during the match and a yellow or a red card depending on the severity of the foul. If during a duel a second player comes, in this will be a foul as well. Furthermore, if such encounter lasts longer than 4 seconds, this is an aerial interlude in basketball manner.
