Dalilla Hermans, ( born 1986), is a Rwandan - Belgian writer.. She is a regular columnist at the Standaard,[1] [2]and was an editor at Charlie Magazine,.[3][4]
Life[edit]
Dalilla Hermans was born in Rwanda and was adopted at the age of two, by a Belgian family. She grew up in Campine. In 2014, she became known by writing an open letter denouncing racism,[5]
In 2017, her book Letter to Cooper and the World was published by Manteau,[6]
She wrote the play Her(e) which premiered in Ghent February 2020, about the visibility and under-representation of black women,. In his book The Last Thing I Want to Say About Racism (2020), she describes representation as an important aspect in the fight against everyday and structural racism.[7]
In 2023, she was appointed project coordinator by the city of Bruges as part of the plan to become European Capital of Culture.[8]
