Coverage[edit]

There are 15 pages in the category as I rewrite its preface and Talk first. That constitutes unusually incomplete coverage: for a majority of winning authors, we do have biographies but they are not in the category and may not cover the Prize.

These 15 writers (and pages in the category) account for 15 of the 47 awards and winning works through 2010/2011. (The Prize is once-in-a-lifetime and no author has been recognized for more than one book, except perhaps informally, when the winning work is one in a series. There have been two ties in 45 award cycles.)

Thus 32 winning authors are not in the category. According to our List of winners, 28 of those writers have biographies (bluelinks) and 4 do not (redlinks). --P64 (talk) 18:19, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Coverage is now complete through year 2000. There were 36 winning authors in 34 cycles representing publication years 1966 to 1999. Three biographies are WP:REDLINKs and 33 are in the category.

Prizes from 2001 are covered by The Guardian online, primarily by contemporary material. As of August 2012, eleven cycles have been completed and we have articles on all but the most recent (2011) winning authors and winning books.
