Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (Ontario)Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport – Unnecessary disambiguatior; no other articles have this title Pppery 20:57, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. On the basis of evidence presented by Huw immediately below, I am striking my support vote and changing it to oppose. I was hoping to eliminate the parenthetical qualifier, but confronted by very similar entities with qualifiers such as "(Malaysia)", "(Thailand)" or "(Ethiopia)", I see this nomination as selective, rather than all-encompassing and would now support this type of change only if it were done as a mass nomination of all such ministries. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 01:09, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't deliberately choose this one. I just wasn't aware of any other similarly titled articles untile Huwmanbeing posted below. {{repeat|p|3}}ery (talk) 02:01, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (Ontario)Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (Ontario) – The Ministry appears to have changed back to using its old name. This is the name listed on ontario.ca, the government's official website and ola.org, the website of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The old webpage for the Ministry https://www.ontario.ca/page/ministry-heritage-sport-tourism-culture-industries, redirects to a page with the new name. This change appears to have happened with the appointment of Neil Lumsden as Minister following the 2022 general election. Therefore current name of the article is not longer accurate. It wouldn't need disambiguation as "(Ontario)"—there's no article for Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, so it should be at that title. —Joeyconnick (talk) 17:00, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
However, there is a Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and several Ministries of Tourism and Sport, among other articles with similar names. For those reasons, I feel the inclusion of (Ontario) is warranted. Legend of 14 (talk) 22:23, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 7 June 2024[edit]

Ontario has changed the name again. It is now called the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Gaming. Sport is now its own separate Ministry (and Lumsden will continue there as Minister).
