Non-free reduce[edit]

The current article Hollister riot doesn't yet fully cover this in great enough detail, but the debate and criticism around this image requires a minimum level of detail. The arrangement of the beer bottles is one of the main points of discussion, as evidence in the argument that the photo was staged. There is a second photo in the same set, also taken by Barney Petersen, that shows the bottles hadn't been placed there yet.[23] The other photo shows Eddie Davenport holding up a borrowed jacket with the colors of a motorcycle club he was not a member of, more evidence, says Brock Yates and others, that it was a put on. The man in the background, Gus Deserpa, told reporters and authors that he saw Petersen stage the photo, and so you'd want to be able to identify his face. There is a secondary discussion regarding the model year and equipment of the motorcycle, centering on the use of a custom foot shifter, again requiring enough resolution to make out some of those details. The photo is considered iconic, having been reprinted in Life magazine twice in addition to the original 1947 appearance.

All things to keep in mind before reducing the resolution too much. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 20:51, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
