Summary

Description
English: Fresco depicting Isis receiving Io, who had been transformed into a cow by Zeus, at her sanctuary in Canopus, Egypt. Io rides on the back of a marine deity and Isis grasps her hand, transforming her back into a human (although Io's cow horns remain, which help the viewer to understand who's being depicted in this fresco).

Fourth Pompeiian Style fresco, from the south wall of the Ekklesiasterion, Temple of Isis, Pompeii.
